A unique selling point of TanzZeit is the close link between dance practice and dance reception. In order to give the students who participate in Tanz in Schulen the opportunity not only to dance themselves, but also to experience professional dance on stage, a separate production company was founded in 2016 with TANZKOMPLIZEN, which has become an indispensable part of Berlin’s cultural landscape.
TANZKOMPLIZEN is the first venue in Berlin to exclusively and continuously bring dance for young audiences to the stage. New pieces and formats from various dance genres are produced here, guest performances and repertory pieces are shown, and diverse educational formats for young and old are offered. International choreographers and dancers create pieces for different age groups and talk about them with students and families from all over Berlin after the performance. The performances take place in the mornings for school classes and on weekends for families. The venue is the Podewil in Berlin-Mitte.
A visit to TANZKOMPLIZEN is a fixed component of the school formats Master, Junior and Choreografischer Rucksack, and thus makes it possible for almost 1,000 students a year to attend a professional stage play.
